Great piece, TJ.

I especially appreciate the part about living in and for the moment, not for the future or a promised success story. Eminem’s character didn’t rap for a record deal, or for fame, or any of that. He rapped because he loved to rap. Too many times kids think that they get scouted and play in the NBA, or they’ve failed as a basketball player. They overlook that playing basketball well should be the goal.

If you love what you do, doing it well should be the payoff. Anything else, any other goal, is not only naive, but utterly self-abusive.

Whaddup Kahlil!!?? I’ve just been checking out your blog; Very Inspiring. However, I do have to say, as someone who saw you start out under the bright lights of the Wood Jr. High talent show… I always knew you’d go BIG! You have the talent and the drive to become one of the legends; keep at it!
